Avoiding latency between game and broadcast

A delay between what you see and what your viewers see is normal (3–8 seconds). A delay between your own actions and your own screen is not.

Keep local latency low

1. Play on the gaming PC's monitor, not the capture preview.
2. Avoid running the capture card preview in OBS at full resolution while playing.
3. Disable any "low-latency" preview on the streaming PC that interferes.

Tip: If you can hear yourself echo in your headphones, you have audio loopback — break it before going live.
