Router placement and reducing interference

Where you put your router matters as much as which one you buy.

Best practices

1. Place it centrally in the home and elevated (a shelf, not the floor).
2. Keep at least one meter away from microwaves, large metal objects, and aquariums.
3. Don't hide it inside a media cabinet.
4. Update its firmware at least once a year.

Tip: If you can see your router from the gaming spot with a clear line of sight, you're in great shape.
